Run by Africans, for Africans
About us
OpenGates Africa was founded to offer a platform for the visionaries of Africa. Our purpose is to provide a stage that brings together stakeholders, investors, financial institutions, local partners, project holders and policymakers across the continent.
We are a London-based Africa conference and consulting company, run by Africans for Africans. Through business conferences and events, consulting and advisory work, and introductions between partners, we help organisations and the African diaspora meet the right people and work together across Africa.
Our work spans agriculture, energy, financial services, government projects, healthcare, infrastructure and manufacturing, mining, and transport and logistics.
“Africa will blossom to its full potential when we blur trading borders and join forces.”
Our format
OpenGates Africa will convene twice a year, in June and October. Each edition is hosted in a different African country, chosen for its best practices and the industries where it is doing well. The first host country, dates and venue will be announced shortly.
One in each half of the year, so the conversation and the partnerships keep moving.
Planned for June and October, with exact dates confirmed with each host country.
Hosts are chosen for their best practices and the strength of their leading industries.
Our themes
Our conversations are organised around six themes that matter most to investment and growth across the continent. The programme will be announced alongside our dates.
Capital, financial institutions and the conditions that make investment in Africa work.
Power, transport and the physical foundations of growth and connection.
Intra-African and global trade, manufacturing and the value added on the continent.
Productive, resilient food systems and the businesses that sustain them.
Digital infrastructure, enterprise and the innovation opening new markets.
Health systems, access to care and the partnerships that strengthen them.
